Chapter 4: Toy Fair 2011

"The Happening"

Toy Fair 2011 is the true happening, a happening unlike recent years. For The Toy Man, this is "THE Happening", an exciting new adventure where recognition of creativity and innovation in products is has been stirred and awakened once again.

A Real Adventure Like No Other

This Happening is a real adventure like no other this year! As The Toy Man® rolls across the various show floors the diverse collage of color and innovative creativity is practically intoxicating for him. Much like a child with a $100 bill in a candy shop, he finds it difficult to determine which direction he should go first.

There are plenty of unique sights to see on the show floors with one being of particular interest to The Toy Man®. He carefully rolls his wheelchair ever closer to the curiously shaped creatures he sees floating in the air as well as the creature in the funny blue rubber suit in Booth #5902.

The Toy Man® thinks to himself, "Hmmm, this quite peculiar, a flying fish?" He adds an additional thought to that, "Why is that man in a scuba suit? Could he be a bit confused and attempting to capture the flying fish?" Well, it is clear to see to The Toy Man® that this is going to be a VERY interesting adventure, that's for sure!

The adventure continues as The Toy Man moves on to discover many more attractions in this Happening. It was obvious to him that the probability of coming across another group of flying fish or other oddity has to be nearly impossible, or is it? The Toy Man® soon discovers never to assume.

Duck Hunting Anyone?

Whilst The Toy Man® ventured further on the trade show floors, he was still bewildered by the sight of the flying fish and such. As he turns around the next corner, he is startled by yet another oddity to the visual senses at Booth #5605, where Interactive Toys is debuting their classic and latest new R/C tanks, cars, helicopters, and even ducks! Quack quack, bang! Here are a bunch of men shooting at a crazy R/C duck flying around the area! Now that's a dead duck!

A little info about Duck Hunter...

Hunted or be hunted with the Duck Hunter. Launch the duck in the air and try to hunt it down with the toy shooter as it flies freely in the air. With and infra red gun you shoot at the little quacker with sound effects included! This insanely comical product proved to be so popular that it was selected as a "The Toy Man® recommends" product.

Following the comical antics of seeing the men shooting at an R/C duck, The Toy Man continued on to explore the multitude of products with the intention of selecting the rest of today's "The Toy Man® recommends" products.

Innovation So Well Defined

Innovation is so well defined at Toy Fair 2011 in the eyes of The Toy Man. One of the many products which fulfilled that definition was the "Zike". This is an entirely new type of cycle which was introduced at Toy Fair 2011 that is a combination of a scooter and a bike. The "Zike" was invented by Nathan Scolari of Greenville.

As The Toy Man interviewed a number of people who were visiting the Zike booth, it quickly became apparent that the Zike bike really drew the attention of the visitors to the booth. The primary point of interest was the solid and substantial on good health from use of the Zike.

There are many more features coming soon including a feature on Mattel and their new Games effort, including their new feature Loopz. These new features will be available for you over the next few days as The Toy Man® adds more details from his latest adventure.
