"This book I am examining is wonderful to see from a professional point of view, as well as through the eyes of being a mother of 2 toddlers myself. Sexual predators are in abundance and proper education with your children to help them understand about their more 'personal parts' and potential predators holds a very distinct need in priority.

What I enjoyed the most was how the author has provided a well structured plan of action in her book for kids to talk to trusted adults and gain a greater understanding of 'okay' and 'not-so-okay' zones as I teach in my pre-school classes. Toddlers have such simple minds, much as a sponge, prepared for absorption of what they are exposed to. Now using a sponge once again for an analogy, once a sponge has absorbed a liquid material you can squeeze the sponge to your heart's content, yet there will always be some residual liquid remaining within the sponge.

The same rule with the sponge applies to a pre-school age child or anyone else for that matter. Once a traumatic experience such as a situation with a sexual predator occurs, the child may go through therapy with a plentiful amount of TLC, yet a residual of the traumatic experience still clings on. It is well documented by many well recognized and dependable sources that the trauma from sexual abuse will change the entire pathway for a child in their life to a minor or more often than not, significant degree.

Those Are MY Private Parts serves quite well to arm parents, teachers, and physical/health care professionals with a new array of armor for a child as well as their own selves never seen before. Simple, colorful and easy to understand illustrations in this book provide a completely new approach to discussion with toddlers about their 'okay' and 'not-so-okay' or 'personal zones' which they need to be educated about in addition to identifying potential predator threats. The overall structure of the book is quite impressive considering it was not created by a seasoned author in this field.

I consider this book a valuable asset to have and put into use at home or in professional application. In the hands-on portion of my analysis, the book showed very favorable response from the parents and toddlers in our test groups. It was quite effective for its intended use in all test groups I introduced it to."

"Those Are MY Private Parts is a rather interesting book for me to evaluate under real-life test environments. Sexual abuse of toddlers is a prominent issue, one in which toddlers can become forgotten victims of the experience they endured. Research shows that before the age of eighteen, as many as one in three girls is sexually abused, and as many as one in five boys is a victimized as well. Although this doesn't speak specifically of the pre-school age range, it still embodies the idea of the the constant and ever-present threat which exists today.

Those Are MY Private Parts takes an inimitable approach to addressing the threat of sexual abuse to pre-school age children. The book has been authored in such a way that the education of children of this age about their private parts and the threats that exists to their lives is made so simple and informative. This is a splendid example of understanding the mind of a pre-school age child and approaching them from their level of thinking.

A key point in the authoring of this book is unquestionable...A mother has a gift which a male does not. She has born a child and holds a symbiotic relationship with the child long after she has given birth. That bond allows her to see and sense her child's way of thinking and understanding. This allows her to write a book such as this with an objectivity which cannot be matched. A male can form assumptions and hypotheses based upon schooling and experience with children yet can never know the gift a woman is bestowed with for her child.

Those Are MY Private Parts takes a subject which many parents find causes great discomfort in discussing with their child, and makes it a simple effort which brings them even closer in their interaction. The veils of fear and trepidation in approaching this subject are torn away and their child gains substantial benefit from the actions of the parents.

The colorful illustrations within the book are on a level which the child can relate to. This forms a comfort zone for parents or a qualified health care professional to work with in which a child can now become fully aware of their body parts and other important details. The size, color scheme used, and the length of the book play an important role in what makes this book so valuable and highly recommended to be used with children of pre-school age class. "

Nothing is more powerful than hands-on experience by a consumer with a product when it is being evaluated. Based upon that fact we put every single product we evaluate at the mercy of consumers in a hands-on evaluation where anything goes. Shall we see how "Those Are MY Private Parts" was seen by with consumers?

For "Those Are MY Private Parts" we took a different approach. With the assistance of a group of doctors and other health care professionals, we were able to use guest rooms and a playroom at a medical center to perform our hands-on evaluation segment of our evaluation for a period of 3 days. We had 10 families with their toddlers participating in this evaluation, one family at a time, to ensure no possible inflection of influence or bias from one family to another.

Each family was escorted into the playroom and the parents were given the book "Those Are MY Private Parts" to go through with their children. The various families had a variety of age groups and sexes with the toddlers which provided a much broader range of evaluation parameters. Once the families were in the playroom and given the book, they were left alone for 60 minutes to run through the book with their toddlers, make notes, and have discussion with their family members."

Upon completion of all of the sessions with each family, their hands-on evaluation feedback forms were gathered and set aside for later review. Once the entire hands-on evaluation was completed, all of the families gathered in the conference room for group discussion.

The families were encouraged to share their experience with "Those Are MY Private Parts" and their toddlers with the each other. It was amazing to see the incredible amount of emotion that was beginning to flow amongst the families. Many of them expressed how it felt so much better to finally address this kind of concern with their children. They were quite pleased with how the book helped them to accomplish what they were trying to avoid all this time.

The families exchanged opinions, experiences with their children, and even past experiences of their own where several of the parents turned out to have been victims of sexual abuse their own selves. This opportunity with "Those Are MY Private Parts" created an opportunity to finally open up with others about the challenges they had faced over all these years, never having an opportunity to speak to another adult who knew and understood what it felt like.

There was ample evidence from the feedback forms and the group discussions of what a powerful conduit of learning that "Those Are MY Private Parts" provides not just for the toddlers, but the parents themselves as well. "Those Are MY Private Parts" passed this segment of our evaluation perfectly. It was only obvious that Teach My Toddler made it through this segment of our evaluation with strong popularity and passed the evaluation for consumer hands-on evaluation.

While other organizations will define their ratings in a "blanket" method which simply defines each rating in an overall usage, we choose to take a different approach.
