Here we are in July yet the memories of such amazing new discoveries at ASTRA 2011, the Anaheim Hilton™, and Disneyland™ still remain so strong... On June 18th, 2011, The Toy Man® Product Guide staff arrived in Anaheim, CA, ready to prepare for coverage of ASTRA™ 2011, the adventures that lay ahead for them in Disneyland™ and at the Anaheim Hilton™. Everything was so simple; get in on the 18th and leave on the 20th. Little did they know that their stay would extend to 4 days+ of the most wonderful experience that was waiting for them.
ASTRA™ 2011
ASTRA 2011 had such an immense of wondrous new products, just waiting to be discovered. ASTRA™ 2011 was to say the very least, an interesting creature from the perspective of a journalist. In interviewing a number of the buyers, distributors and the exhibitors there was a wide variety of viewpoints of how they saw this year's show. One thing that remained consistent for everyone I spoke with, there so many new discoveries residing amongst the already familiar show floor sights.
Some of the many new products found were simple and inviting, while others were nothing short of amazing and captured your heart in a fraction of a moment. It was such a diverse assemblage of creativity and talent; a buyer's delight!
In the images above you can see some of the activity on the show floor at ASTRA™ 2011.
For many, this was a much better show than their recent experience at WTHRA 2011 in Long Beach with a substantial increase in their volume of sales. For others it was simply a very successful show as far as productivity and even sales. For a limited few others, they didn't feel they were impressed with ASTRA™ 2011, yet laid the blame to the current economy.
From my own viewpoint, the show was outstanding. The show floor was busy and opportunities were abundant. Based upon my own observations each day on the show floor, sales came to those who were willing to step out and communicate with the attendees. Just sitting there in the booth without even a smile provided no catalytic agent to draw a buyer to stop.
Did you know that it's a well documented fact that with nothing more than a smile, sales can go well beyond expectation. C'mon, let's see a smile there!

Disneyland Meets The Toy Man®
Who would think of The Toy Man® and his staff at Disneyland™? Well, when you think about it, there are a vast variety of Disney™ toys, games, and so much more just waiting to be discovered by the guests as they traverse through the many wonders of the two theme parks. So many people, so many smiles, ...a time of enjoyment and pleasure for us all.
The Disneyland™ theme parks already had their own unique features for which they are so well know for generations. Despite that, The Toy Man® and his staff brought an added something special. Over 1,000+ games, toys, and IT products were given away to the guests at the two parks over a period of 4 days! The service at the Anaheim Hilton™ was well above par, providing an atmosphere of distinction and comfort. At the same time the hotel served as the perfect as well as convenient location for our hotel stay and easy access to the Anaheim Convention Center for attending ASTRA™ 2011.
The Hilton staff are dedicated to meeting the needs of their guests. A perfect example of this is demonstrated in the image at left. The young lady on the EzyRoller bike is one of the staff at the Anaheim Hilton™. She obliged my request to take the EzyRoller for a spin in the hotel lobby! |

This is but a small example of the quality of service provided at the Anaheim Hilton™ and all other Hilton properties we recommend. The image above provides our readers with the most perfect example of a real, hands-on experience of using a product.
The Overall Stay At The Hilton

Restaurants, plenty of meeting space, spacious guest rooms with plenty of services available via the phone. The Toy Man® Product Guide staff were more than satisfied in our stay at the Anaheim Hilton™.
Although there were a few hiccups in the service during our stay at the Anaheim Hilton™, it was pretty much a smooth ride. My personal evaluation of the hotel still managed to be tops. The staff were a literal Godsend in our accomplishing our tasks being completed almost flawlessly.
Even the hand-on evaluations of products we did at the Anaheim Hilton™ were a shining success thanks to people like the young lady featured in the image at left. |

What you have seen so far is nothing more than a peek at what is to come. There is no possible way to encapsulate the excitement of all of the wonderful discoveries in one single article. It is for this reason that on July 11th we will be publishing the gallery of images from ASTRA 2011 in its own article as well as an exclusive article and imagery from the Disneyland™ experience for The Toy Man® and his staff. An additional article about the Anaheim Hilton™ will also soon be available as well.
A thought to consider...
We have received an abundance of phone calls and email with the same question; "Why are you waiting so long to publish the articles on ASTRA 2011, Disneyland™, and the Anaheim Hilton™?"
We are all glad you asked! When the exhibitors, distributors, and buyers leave a trade show or event, they have to assimilate all the information collected, make contacts, and complete business. Some are even off to even 2 to 3 additional trade shows back to back!
Taking that into consideration, we have chosen to do our publishing a few weeks later when there is a higher probability of the readers putting their full attention to our articles, thus gaining a greater level of understanding and appreciation, not missing something that may be of importance to them.
